Richard Addiscott

Director IT Planning, Governance and Security, Curtin University

Richard Addiscott’s IT career spans 16 years and has led Curtin University’s information security, IT planning and governance team since April 2015. Prior to joining Curtin University, Richard was a Principal Consultant with BAE Systems Applied Intelligence delivering GRC services across Australia. He has also worked as an IT leader in some of Australia’s most secure environments across the National Security Community and was a Technical Advisor to the first Australian National Security Chief Information Officer. Richard’s passion and primary focus is developing business-aligned, risk-appropriate information security capabilities to assist organisations generate and sustain value in today’s innovation fuelled digital business environments. Richard holds a Bachelor of Science in Software Engineering from ECU, a Graduate Certificate in Public Sector Management from Flinders University, and a Master of Strategic Studies from the ANU Strategic and Defence Studies Centre.
